What a strange year it has been. It’s taken much thought, and a lot more patience, to figure out how we wanted to handle ShellCon this year. As much as we love the amazing community and feeling that a traditional in-person conference can bring, the COVID-19 situation has forced us to move ShellCon to an all-virtual format this year. We were hopeful that our customary Fall dates would afford us the opportunity to be the first post-COVID conference to welcome back our wonderful hacker family. However, it wasn’t in the cards.
We are pleased to announce that ShellCon will be held October 9-10, in an all-virtual, online format.
The main talks will be streamed for free for all to enjoy. We’re still evaluating all of the ways that we can bring incredible content to our community. We’re especially hoping that we can find a format for our traditional workshops and Hacker Village that will work to bring them to an online audience.
Our Call For Papers is open and ready for your submissions. We’re excited to hear about all of the exciting projects that you’ve been working on during lockdown! Submit a talk or workshop today!
We’re not quite ready to open up registration for ShellCon at this time. As everything will be online, we’re looking to make as much content as possible available for free. Some content such as workshops may have limited capacity and may have a small fee to secure your spot.
Follow us on social media to stay on top of all of our announcements as we finalize the plans for this year!
